A Qualified Professional Here to Guide You
If you are looking for a Psychotherapist to support your journey of self discovery then look no further.
Here at Peace in Mind you will find a place you can talk, cry, shout, scream, or say nothing at all. It can be a challenge to deal with life's ups and downs which can often leave us feeling worse for wear and you may find yourself saying "its just one thing after another". You may feel that you are struggling to manage, notice yourself becoming more irritated, annoyed, frustrated and angry with yourself, your children, partner, work colleagues and others around you. You may feel that you are becoming more upset, hopeless and depressed, no longer enjoying things as you used to and that no-one understands you.
If you can relate to this, then you are not alone and arranging a session with Peace in Mind can be the beginning of finally getting Peace in your mind.
I am a qualified integrative counsellor and have over 10 years experience working with children, young people and adults.
I have a degree in Psychology, a Masters Award in Social Work, a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, a Post Graduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and a Post Graduate Diploma in CYP IAPT Supervision.
I have worked in Local Authority Children's Services and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) for several years assessing and treating young people for mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. I also have experience counselling adults who have experienced trauma and abuse as well as those who present with a range of mental health issues. My experience has given me the opportunity to meet a diverse range of people of varying ages, abilities, ethnicities, religions and sexualities and to work with a range of issues whether they be related to relationships, work, study, housing, money, mental health drugs or alcohol.
I have a passion for helping people to achieve their goals and do so by giving you a space to feel heard, understood and not judged. I know it can be difficult to talk about issues which bring about feelings of shame or embarrassment however at Peace in Mind you will not be judged on your actions or behaviour but instead a partnership will be formed between us where there is trust and safety to share what you feel comfortable with. I believe that you are the expert of your life and that by sharing your feelings with me we can work to build on areas of low confidence and self esteem, self doubt and insecurities to a position where you feel more empowered to manage what life has to throw at you.
